Parranda is a Spanish word suggesting a party, fête, celebration out on the town. It is also the root from which parang music sprang. This lively folkloric music of Trinidad and Venezuela is performed from mid October to mid January, sharing the Christmas spirit and story in a social and entertaining manner.
