I love Ella Fitzgerald.
I do a series entitled Faith Sings Ella, where I sing her songs, as myself, in her special way.
This year, I want to tell her life story as I sing her songs, and as it is her 100th year of her birth, why not present her story in speech and in song to 100 audiences?
It’s a little crazy, I know. Ambitious and well, that’s the word for it, ambitious.
I posted in Facebook just what this is. Here is an excerpt:
“Here’s the truth…
I am taking a leap of faith, and trusting that I am doing what I’ve been called to do – sing songs that awaken memories, emotion, and joy…and inspire people with stories of perseverance, humor and hope. Ella Fitzgerald‘s story fits in a unique way, and this centennial project is essentially my telling of her story, far and wide. 50 shows. 50 tributes. It’s ambitious. I’ve already been told I can’t do it. #soencouraging #letstalkinayear#me+God=#winning … The success of this show will have a lasting impact on my career, but also on the lives of those present, and who receive the money raised… I truly believe that.
I would so appreciate your support in this endeavour, however is right for you – whether it’s buying a ticket, sharing posts, sending a little encouraging note… it hasn’t been easy but I know it is worth it, to inspire young and young at heart with Ella’s inspiring story – no matter where you come from, or who you are, you matter… and can make a difference in this world. ”
That’s what this is. That’s why it matters to me. I hope you’ll join me on this crazy journey.
Peace, and Blessings,
